Water, Water Everywhere!

This week it has been HOT, HOT, HOT here in Ohio, so we have been finding many fun ways to beat the heat. On Tuesday, the girls and I went over to the Cook's house for "Water Day". The moms set up a Slip-n-Slide, kiddie pool, several sprinklers, a water table, and some bubble machines and the kiddos played for hours! We completed the day with a lunch filled with pizza, fresh fruit, and ice cream. Needless to say, the moms and kids all had a blast and everyone took great naps that afternoon. Possibly me included, if you care to know.

I didn't get very many pictures. I was to busy carefully supervising my children (or potentially socializing with Cheryl, Diane, and Jen)...

In addition to "Water Day", the girls and I have spent the week going to the library, parks, Turkeyfoot Lake and the YMCA. We even had a special girls' lunch out today. I sure do love the summer!

In other "water" related news, I decided that the start of summer was the perfect time to start potty training. I hate to even jinx myself by writing any of this, so I'm hoping that knocking on wood while simultaneously typing will help my cause.

We (knock) are (knock) having (knock) huge (knock) potty (knock) training (knock)success (knock, knock, knock, knock...let's hope that helped)!

On Saturday morning, with Steve home to help, I put my little darlings in their new big girl underpants. And then held my breath, waiting with a bottle of Resolve in my hands to clean up the flood of messes that I was sure would ensue. To my surprise, Olivia had two small accidents on each of the weekend days and Madison only had one each day. Not nearly as bad as I was expecting.

Since Monday, Maddie has been completely accident free! Olivia had her first accident free day today, but has only had one small accident every other day this week (in a Pull-Up which I used when we were out in public for her).

I know we are not very far into this process and I'm sure we will encounter setbacks from time to time, but I'm so proud of them for their progress and can't believe they are doing this well.

My wallet is already feeling a little lighter...

Lucky! I am SO jealous of the slip and slide AND the potty success! I gave Griff a week off and then we'll start back up. I'm haklf tempted to just let him stand at the big potty and see what happens. Enjoy your weekend!
