A Conversation...Two Year Old Style!

Usually when the kids wake up from their naps they call for me to come and get them. Today, however, I heard their little voices talking over the monitor at the conclusion of nap time. As any good mother would do, I immediately started eavesdropping listening. (Hey, I need to get practice in so I can figure out what they're up to when they are 16!)

After several moments, I quickly dashed to my computer to frantically start typing as they were talking. It was just too cute! I missed the beginning of the conversation, but here's where I picked up:

** Important note - "B" = Olivia's security blanket. It will help the conversation make a little more sense! **

Olivia: "And I couldn't find my doll anywhere and I was so sad."

Madison: "But I gived you a kiss. That make you happy."

Olivia: "But I was still so sad Maddie. So I kissed and snuggled my B. And B said, 'I love you Livie'.

Madison: "Nuh-uh. Bs don't talk Liv. Only peoples talk."

Olivia: "Yeah. Only peoples talk and dogs bark."

Madison: "No. Dogs bark AND talk. Dogs bark-talk."

Olivia: "No Maddie. Dogs don't talk."

Madison: "Yes their do. When they bark, they talk Liv."

Olivia: "Sometimes Sydney barks loud. Too loud!"

Madison: "Yeah and then we want her to run away so her bark don't wake me up!"

Olivia: "No. If her runned away then mom would be really sad."

Madison: "But I could give mom some M&Ms. That make her happy again."

Olivia: "Can I have have some M&Ms too, Maddie?"

Madison: "You don't get any M&Ms. Sorry Liv."

Olivia: "I'll just get pretend M&Ms, ok?"

Madison: "Ok. Can I have some of your pretend M&Ms?"

Olivia: "Sure, but you can't have a whole bunch. I have a whole bunch. You can have three."

At this point, they decided to start calling for me (probably because they were suddenly hungry for M&Ms!).

When I opened the door to their bedroom, they both immediately started telling me that when they woke up from their naps they started to talking to each other.

Madison: "We be talking about our dreams, mom."

Olivia: "Yeah. We had a LOT of dreams today."

I seriously want them to stay just like this forever...
