My Love Affair...

It's official.

I've fallen in love with a little man named Christopher.  Christopher Popinkins to be exact.

Don't get me wrong.  I still love my husband, but Christopher brings a few more things to the table these days than Steve can offer (sorry, honey).

The presence that Christopher has had in our home is unmistakable.  Night and day different, really.

I was muddling along through November, just trying to make it to the holidays, while working full time and mothering two small children.  Life was stressful at best.  My patience for three year old antics was wearing thin.

And then my new buddy Chris arrived on the scene.  Cute pointed ears and all.

Christopher, with his rosy cheeks and dopey grin, has cast a spell over my children.

He's always watching, just waiting to rush back to the North Pole to let Santa know if everyone in our house needs to be bumped from the nice list over to the naughty list.

Lucky for me, Christopher is a very giving little elf, because our relationship is definitely a one way street.  I may or may not be using him to my advantage more often than not throughout my days.

When three year olds in my world start to whine about something, I shout in whatever direction Christopher happens to be, "Christopher!  I hope you aren't listening!!!  I hope you can't hear this whining that is happening right now and I REALLY hope you don't tell Santa!"

Funny how a quick shout out to my bud Chris can take us from tantrum to angel status in a mere 1.8 seconds.

Can you see why I've fallen head over heels?

What on earth am I going to do when I have to say goodbye to Christopher after Christmas and he's not (literally) hanging over my children's heads?!?!?

I just heard about elf on the shelf the other day. They said it works magic. I am totally getting me one next year!

That elf is SO much cuter than THE Elf on the Shelf :o). We have the Elf on the Shelf...I don't think it's helping too much, though they do like looking for him every morning.

Cute post!
