A Camping We Will Go...and So Much More...

Not long ago, my husband presented me with a fun idea.  We were going to head to a state park and spend the weekend with a group of our friends.  A weekend to hang out and have fun with friends?  Count me in!

Turns out an important detail about the trip was left out.  Someone *forgot* to mention that this was a camping trip.  A true, honest-to-goodness, I'm-going-be-sleeping-in-a-tent, using-public-showers kind of camping trip.

Can you guess that I've never camped before?  Unless of course you count sleeping in a cabin as camping...

So today, I'm packing up our car with a tent, sleeping bags, air mattresses, and enough OFF bug repellent to keep bugs out of the state of Ohio for awhile.  I'm really am looking forward to spending the whole weekend with my family and great friends, I just need to get over my first time camping jitters.  Oh yeah...and I apparently also need to find something heavy to put on top of the cooler so the raccoons don't eat our food.  Oh boy...

In other news, as soon as this camping trip is over...so is my summer.  Sniff.

School starts for the year on Monday.  This seriously was the fastest and BEST summer on record for me.  Sniff, sniff.

But the good news?  I was able to meet my new little 3rd graders last night and wow,  they are cute!  They have really great personalities and were just adorable last night.  I'm looking forward to a great year with them.

Just wish it was still summer.  Sniff, sniff, sob.

Over the past two weekends, we've had lots of family visiting for special reasons.  First, David and Jenn visited and we all went to a lovely bridal shower to celebrate their wedding in October.

David with my future sister-in-law, Jenn

The following weekend, Don, Lynn, and Norie drove up fromNorth Carolina so that we could all meet the newest member of their family, Miller!

And finally, if you would kindly keep my friend Annie and her family in your prayers, it would be greatly appreciated.  Annie has been one of my best friends since college.  She was the maid of honor in my wedding and I'm the God-Mother to her beautiful oldest daughter, Katy.

Annie's husband, Arturo, had an unfortunate accident early this week and he lost much of three of his fingers.  He will be out of work for quite some time and is in a tremendous amount of pain.  They are such a wonderful family and could definitely use all they prayers they can get as work through this difficult time.  Thank you!
