Our Christmas Adventure

Dear Readers of Mom's Blog,

Mom and Dad are napping and we are unsupervised. We figured this would be the perfect time to grab the computer and take over mom's blog for awhile.

Do you want to hear about our fabulous weekend adventure? We got to go to Buffalo for the weekend to visit mommy's family! Mom and Dad almost wouldn't let us go...something about an ice storm. The roads looked fine to us. Sometimes they worry way too much.

The car trip to Buffalo was long, but fun. We tried telling Mom and Dad that we were all done in the car after the first thirty minutes, but no one seemed to listen to us. It was ok though, because we got to watch Christmas Eve on Sesame Street three times. Mom usually turns it off after the second time through, so this was a real bonus!

When we got to Buffalo, it was simply amazing. Everywhere we went people just kept giving us more and more presents. You should see all the cool stuff we got! We don't remember getting this many presents when we went to visit in September. Do you think we'll get as many presents the next time we go back?

Sunday night Mom and Dad decided it was time for us to head back home, and boy was our trip back eventful. Apparently Buffalo gets lots of snow, which we think is awesome. As we started our drive back to Ohio, it was so cool to see all of the white snow that was floating outside the windows of the car. At one point, there was so much of that white stuff that we couldn't even see ANYTHING out of the windows. AWESOME!

For some reason, Mom and Dad didn't seem to think the snow was quite as cool as we did. Dad was clutching the steering wheel so hard his knuckles were just as white as the snow, and Mom kept jumping and was holding onto the handle of her car door. Finally, Mom and Dad decided there was too much snow to keep driving (plus the highway closed...we don't know what that means, but it really seemed to make Mommy upset!).

Since we couldn't keep driving, guess what we got to do?!?!? We got to stay in our very first hotel room! It was super cool! We got to stay in a huge room that had a HUGE bed for us to play on and we each got our own special cribs. Didn't we tell you it was an exciting weekend?!?!?

We were extra good sleepers that night because Mom and Dad looked a little stressed. Apparently they didn't like the adventure quite as much as we did, although we aren't sure why not! The next morning we got to spend more time in the fun hotel room while we waited for the highway to open again. More fun for us!

Finally, we got back into our car and headed for home. It was another snowy trip, but at least we made it back home.

See? Doesn't that sound like it was a fun weekend? We can't wait to do it again soon, but Mom and Dad said it's not happening again for quite some time. They never let us have any fun!

Maybe Mom will let us "borrow" her blog again sometime soon!

Love,

Livie and Maddie
