Over the past few weeks I have been planning and plotting. My Christmas shopping list was officially finalized this morning (thanks to Dave Ramsey's seal of approval), so I decided to drag my family out to do some Christmas shopping tonight. Tonight was one of our "family date nights", so I thought it was the perfect opportunity to grab a nice dinner and get a jump start on some Christmas shopping before the non-organized, non-list makers of the world got their acts together and hit the stores.
Turns out this list making control freak wasn't quite as ahead of the game as was initially thought! I was shocked by how busy and crowded EVERY store was. On the plus side, tonight's excursion helped to get me prepped and ready for Black Friday! Silver lining, folks. Silver lining.
The biggest hit of the night was definitely our trip to ToysRUs. Steve and I explained to the kids ahead of time that we weren't buying anything...just getting ideas so we could let Santa know what we can't live without this Christmas. Madison was in the cart that I was pushing and it was adorable to hear her throughout the store exclaiming, "Oh wow Mom! Wookit! Wookit dat cool fing!" There was quite a bit in ToysRUs that qualified as "cool fings" in her mind.
So what is on the must-have, can't-live-without list at our house this year? Turns out Little Einsteins' toys might have to make an appearance under our tree on Christmas. Olivia said Santa HAS to bring her this Annie doll.

Madison, on the other hand, really wants this June doll.
As luck would have it, ToysRUs happened to NOT have one of these two dolls in stock, which ended up being fine since we weren't buying anything tonight anyway.
Here's to hoping that Santa can tap into a few other available resources to produce both of these dolls in time for Christmas morning!
