Because certainly are not MINE!
The kids ate a great dinner tonight, so (in a blatant attempt to keep them confined in their high chairs longer so that Steve and I could eat) I offered them each a cookie at the end of their meals. Conversation continued for a few moments until I heard Madison say, "More broccoli please, Mommy."
What?!?!?!? Who asks for broccoli when they have a yummy cookie in front of them? Surely, I must have misunderstood her, so I asked her to repeat herself.
"Please Mommy, more broccoli, please!"
As any good mother would do, I of course tried to reason with her and remind her that she did not really want more broccoli. Instead, she wanted the delicious cookie that was on her tray.
After several moments, I finally caved and put more broccoli on her tray...and then did the same for Olivia, who decided she needed more as well.
And the cookies? The girls ate so much broccoli that they didn't have room left over for their partially eaten cookies. So I ate them. You know how I hate to let anything sweet go to waste!
It's no wonder I haven't lost all of my baby weight...
